Delavnica 2 – recipient of the Registry.si donation of this year
Registry.si will donate all entry fees collected at the Netko competition to a selected partner for the fourth year. We are pleased to be able to support Delavnica 2 this year, an organization that makes a significant contribution to the community with its work.
Delavnica 2 is a space for creativity, collaboration, and innovation. It is intended for young people in the Goriška region who want to deepen their knowledge of information technology through practical work. In cooperation with independent entrepreneurs from various IT fields, they have been conducting computer science and Lego robotics courses for the fifth year.
They are an environmentally responsible organization that encourages and teaches young people to reuse and repair hardware. In cooperation with companies, they take over old hardware that is working but needs to be replaced due to protocols. This enables participants to become familiar with professional hardware, as it is used in real companies. They place great emphasis on acquiring practical knowledge, usability, and independence.
In their courses, participants gain insight into the broad field of computer science with the following content: learning about Internet infrastructure (establishing a wireless network), learning about the internal structure of a computer (disassembling and assembling working computers), operating systems (Windows, Linux), programming in the JavaScript programming language, programming microcontrollers Microbit, Arduino, RaspberryPi, programming and controlling the Dobot robotic arm, Internet safety, etc.
In addition to technical content, they also prepare creative content for participants, such as creating electronic music using a computer (learning about various software and creating virtual instruments), photography and computers (processing photos with various programs, artificial intelligence), and 3D printing (modelling and printing). They also conduct Lego robotics courses for the youngest. They cooperate extensively with schools and non-governmental organizations.
Interesting fact: in 2024, they trained as mentors and offered student work to a participant in the first computer course, Delavnica 2.
With this donation, we want to support their efforts and enable them to develop and implement important projects further. We believe that this will contribute to positive changes in society and strengthen their work in their chosen field.
